"The Electronic Work System Success: The Case of an
International Audit Firm"
by Sana GUETAT MABROUK
IAE de Lyon,
Centre de recherche en gestion MAGELLAN
(France). |
|
This research studies the acceptance determinants and success of electronic work
systems in audit firms. The conceptual model, established according to a
systemic approach based on three levels of analysis, formalises the direct and
indirect relations between acceptance determinants, beliefs auditor satisfaction
and the perceived technology success in the audit task. The empirical validation
process was implemented at three offices (Lyon, Tunis and Casablanca) of one of
the Big Four international audit firms. The results of the empirical study,
obtained through the participation of 113 auditors and users of electronic work
systems, globally validate the proposal conceptual model structure. They attest
firstly the predominance of experience reflecting the good practices of this
technology use; secondly, the perceived usefulness reflecting the perception of
the performance enhancement achieved by using the tool; and lastly the user
satisfaction as success determinants of this technology in an audit engagement.....

"Email
Classification: application to conflicts detection between persons in
collaborative work" by
Chahnez
ZAKARIA, Olivier CURE Université Paris Est and Kamel
SMAILI Loria Nancy (France) |
|
In the
context of automatic
text classification, we
present an approach to detect conflicts in email exchanged
between team members belonging to a geographically
distributed enterprise. The aim of this approach is to
inform a team leader of such a situation in order to
prevent serious disagreements between team members.
Our approach proposes to build an ontology of relational
conflicts and to use its set of concepts to categorize the
email classification. The ontology design process is
decomposed in two stages: first we conceptualize the field
of negative emotions, and then we enrich concepts from
text corpora using "triggers". The aim of our study is to
evaluate the ontology contribution in the emails
classification through the model of the TF-IDF (term
frequency-inverse document frequency) and the model of SVM
(Support Vector Machines). |

"Factors
Favoring Use of Financial Information Systems in Small and
Medium Chinese Enterprises." by Zhao
Xin WU, Michel PLAISENT
and
Prosper BERNARD, University of
Quebec at Montreal, UQUAM (Canada). |
|
The majority of Small and
Medium Businesses in China (SMEs) cannot get rid of manual
financial operations. Therefore, an important issue is the
misuse of Financial Management System (FMS) in emerging
economies. This research addresses the main issues: what
are the organizational and individual factors that
influence the use of FMS functions in the Chinese SMEs? A
conceptual model and fourteen hypotheses have been
developed for this purpose. We used a quantitative method
that is based on a survey of
financial sector employees in 450 SMEs in the automotive
industry in Guangdong province, China. The data collected
are analyzed by SAS software. The results can demonstrate
that the factor "training" is the organizational factor
most important in influencing the use of FMS in a Chinese
SMEs ....... |

"Integration
of documentary information processes and systems into the
requirements of business processes : a strategic
information management perspective"
by
Dominique MAUREL, Aïda

|
One of the competitive advantages of organizations lies in
their capacity to create and exploit their informational capital, which is
generated through organizational activities and constitutes their organizational
memory. In order to support these
efforts, information professionals must opt for a process-oriented approach to
the organization, rather than a functional approach.
This paper presents the conceptual framework of an ongoing research project.
It aims at demonstrating the usefulness of ensuring a
better integration of documentary information processes and systems to the
underlying business processes and information systems. In order to do so, an
organization’s information strategy must be aligned with its business processes
and integrated to organizational information systems, themselves aligned with
business processes. In a strategic information management approach, the goal is
to enhance the ability of organizations to leverage information as a competitive
advantage. |

Based on this
observation, firms, industries, universities and even states are
beginning to invest in this new discipline that operates an
essential role in the performance, competitiveness and strategic
actions of the control and protection of information which become
a major issue. Thus, the relationship between added value,
information, knowledge and decision is more than ever asked.
In this context of studies, reflections and sharing ideas in the
organization of the two international conferences SIIE 2008 and
2009 on information systems and economic (or business)
intelligence (http://siie2008.loria.fr and
http://siie2009.loria.fr), we observe that business intelligence
is a field study and practice that requires a multidisciplinary
approach to be adequately dealt with a high level of investment
by scientific, economic and socio-political actors in the domain.
The all is structured into process, actors and tools, including
information systems, in order to convert the organization data in
strategic information and decision.
As a goal in this special issue of
the journal, we wish to contribute with four best papers....
